Homeowners Fear Selling as Market Slows
A new survey by Clever Real Estate reveals that nearly 9 in 10 homeowners are anxious about selling their homes. Stress, high selling costs, and fears of lowball offers top the list of concerns. In fact, 85% worry about accepting offers lower than expected, and 72% fear buyers will demand too many concessions.
As the housing market slows down, homes are sitting on the market longer, with Miami seeing the longest wait at a median of 69 days. This is a stark contrast to Grand Rapids, Michigan, where homes sell in just 13 days, the fastest among U.S. metros.
Experts say fears of economic downturns and high interest rates contribute to the hesitation, as nearly half of homeowners locked in rates below 4%. To ease the stress, many say they’d feel more confident selling if they had a new home secured or a trusted agent by their side.

This includes loan modifications, and in some cases, principal forgiveness, before considering foreclosure.
The sale is being managed in partnership with Citigroup Global Markets and is available for purchase by interested bidders, with details and registration available online.

Century 21 Fires Agent Over Viral Hateful Receipt Incident
A recent incident has sparked controversy and led to the firing of a real estate agent. On March 2, 2025, Stephanie Lovins, a now former Century 21 agent, was let go after leaving a hateful message on a restaurant receipt, telling a waiter she hoped President Trump would deport them. The incident occurred at Cazuelas Mexican Cantina in Columbus, Ohio, and quickly went viral after a photo of the receipt was shared on social media. Lovins initially denied any involvement, claiming her credit card had been stolen, but CCTV footage confirmed her presence.
Century 21 responded swiftly, stating that “hate has no place within the brand.” After investigating, the company confirmed Lovins’ termination. The restaurant, in its statement, emphasized its commitment to respect, tolerance, and acceptance, reinforcing its mission to create a welcoming environment for all.
For real estate professionals, this incident highlights the importance of maintaining professionalism and respect in all interactions, both online and offline.
