Keller Williams Gets Major Investment, Names New CEO

Keller Williams is making big moves—announcing a major investment from private equity firm Stone Point Capital and a new CEO to lead the real estate giant. Christopher Czarnecki, former CEO of Broadstone Net Lease, will take over as president and CEO, filling the role left vacant since January.

Co-founder Gary Keller will remain as executive chairman and retain partial ownership. He says the investment will ‘fuel growth’ and ensure that top agents and franchisees benefit from the company’s future success.

Stone Point Capital, known for investments in CoreLogic and Lone Wolf, is strengthening its foothold in real estate tech. Experts say this deal underscores the growing influence of private equity in the brokerage industry.

Zillow and NAR Win Appeal in REX Antitrust Case

Next, a major legal victory for Zillow and the National Association of Realtors. The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has denied REX’s request for a new trial, ruling that NAR’s ‘no-commingling’ rule is not anticompetitive.

REX, a discount brokerage, claimed the rule unfairly buried non-MLS listings on Zillow’s platform. However, the court found that MLSs had the choice to adopt the rule—and nearly a third didn’t. Zillow also independently redesigned its site to comply, without direct involvement from NAR.

This ruling marks the end of a long legal battle that started in 2021. Both Zillow and NAR say they’re pleased with the decision, calling REX’s claims ‘meritless.’ Meanwhile, the Department of Justice had shown interest in the case, arguing for a broader look at potential antitrust concerns.

For now, this verdict stands, reinforcing the power of MLS rules in the real estate marketplace.

Former Zillow Execs Launch AI Assistant for Real Estate Agents

Finally, former Zillow executives are shaking up the industry with a new AI-powered assistant designed for real estate agents. Meet HouseWhisper—an AI-driven tool that helps agents streamline their workload, from client follow-ups to scheduling and CRM updates.

CEO Luis Poggi, alongside Zillow co-founder Spencer Rascoff and tech leader Alex Kutner, just launched the Seattle-based startup, securing nearly $10 million in funding.

HouseWhisper works through simple voice commands—agents can call, text, or send voice memos, and the AI extracts key details, eliminating hours of admin work.

The tool has already been tested by over 4,000 agents and is gaining traction for its ease of use. With AI rapidly transforming real estate, this could be the next big thing for agents looking to boost efficiency.

We’ll be keeping an eye on how HouseWhisper reshapes the industry.
