Huntsville Police Search for Missing Realtor® Ronnie Dumas

Missing Realtor®
The Huntsville Police Department is searching for answers in the disappearance of local realtor Ronald “Ronnie” Dumas Jr. A missing persons report was filed on Tuesday, December 17th, after Dumas, 37, was last heard from on Sunday, December 15th, around 10 p.m. According to the report, Dumas was out with a group of people that night, but his family and friends don’t know who they were.
The next day, December 16th, the Tennessee Highway Patrol found Dumas’ car abandoned on the side of Interstate 40, near Camden, Tennessee. The car was impounded, and investigators discovered that one of Dumas’ cell phones continued to travel west on I-40 before losing signal.
While Huntsville police have spoken with several of Dumas’ close contacts, none were with him the night he disappeared. Investigators say they have no evidence suggesting Dumas is in immediate danger, but they are urging anyone who was with him on Sunday night to come forward.
Anyone with information is asked to contact lead investigator Gibbs at (256) 427-5448.

Anywhere’s Coldwell Banker and NRT Settle Over Unsolicited Autodialed Calls to Do Not Call Registry Consumers
Real estate giant Anywhere has reached a proposed settlement in a long-running lawsuit related to the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, or TCPA. The class-action suit, filed in 2019, accused Anywhere’s Coldwell Banker and NRT agents of making unsolicited, autodialed calls to consumers listed on the National Do Not Call Registry.
After more than five years of legal back-and-forth, a court notice filed last week confirms that the parties have agreed to a “class-wide settlement in principle” and are now working to finalize the details. The case, originally filed in Northern California, involved over 445,000 unique cellphone numbers, and Anywhere could have faced more than $220 million in damages if the case went to trial.
An Anywhere spokesperson said the settlement aligns with the company’s financial planning, but declined to disclose further details. The case is just one of several TCPA-related lawsuits involving real estate companies; Keller Williams was named in a similar suit earlier this year.

Fourth Person Surrenders at Miami-Dade Courthouse in Alexander Brothers Case
A friend of the Alexander brothers, prominent real estate brokers in Florida and New York, surrendered to authorities Wednesday in connection with a sexual assault case. Ohad Fisherman, 39, turned himself in at the Miami-Dade Courthouse on a charge of sexual battery by multiple perpetrators, after returning early from his honeymoon in Japan. Fisherman is accused of helping the Alexander brothers, Alon and Oren, sexually assault a woman nearly a decade ago in Miami. He was released on a $25,000 bond after his wife and mother-in-law posted collateral.
Fisherman’s case is one of several sexual assault allegations against the Alexander brothers. The twins, along with their older brother Tal, face charges in both state and federal courts, including accusations of sex trafficking and gang rapes involving dozens of women. The brothers have denied the allegations, claiming all sexual encounters were consensual.
A judge has set a detention hearing for the Alexander brothers on December 30, and their request for a $115 million bail was recently denied. The case has drawn significant attention, given their high-profile real estate dealings with clients such as Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.
