RE Google My Business: DOJ Sanctions That Could Impact RE “Google My Business” Practices
In a landmark antitrust case, the Justice Department is calling for sanctions against Google to curb its dominance in the search engine market. In a filing late Tuesday, the DOJ proposed measures aimed at dismantling Google’s exclusive agreements with tech giants like Apple and Samsung, and restricting data tracking practices.
The government’s filing highlights concerns over Google’s “anticompetitive conduct,” alleging that the company has manipulated its business dealings to maintain a monopolistic grip. Google controls about 90% of the U.S. search market, which is crucial not only for everyday consumers but also for businesses, including many real estate agents who rely on RE Google My Business for lead attraction and reviews.
This potential crackdown could significantly impact the best practices currently taught in brokerages, as agents depend on RE Google My Business for visibility and client engagement. One major proposal involves limiting Google’s control over its Chrome browser and Android operating system, with the DOJ emphasizing the need for “behavioral and structural” remedies.
Google has responded, arguing that these measures could disrupt its business model and ultimately raise costs for consumers. In a recent blog post, the company’s VP of Global Affairs expressed concern that the DOJ’s actions might lead to the breakup of its Chrome and Android divisions, which she claims foster competition and benefit users.
Following a ruling from Judge Amit Mehta last August siding with the DOJ, the government plans to gather more evidence before submitting a refined proposal in November, with another trial scheduled for April.
As this case unfolds, the implications for businesses leveraging RE Google My Business are significant. Agents will need to adapt their strategies depending on how the situation evolves, particularly in relation to their listings on RE Google My Business. The reliance on RE Google My Business underscores the platform’s importance in today’s digital marketing landscape.
With the ongoing scrutiny, it’s clear that RE Google My Business is at the center of this antitrust discussion, affecting not just Google but countless users who depend on the platform for their visibility and success.
In summary, as the DOJ pushes for changes, the future of RE Google My Business remains uncertain, but its impact on the real estate industry is undeniable. Agents must stay informed about the developments surrounding RE Google My Business to navigate this challenging environment effectively.
As businesses increasingly rely on RE Google My Business, the DOJ’s actions could reshape how agents engage with their clients. The ongoing conversation about RE Google My Business illustrates its critical role in the current market. Ultimately, the outcome of this case may redefine the framework within which agents utilize RE Google My Business for their operations.
In light of these developments, the role of RE Google My Business will continue to be a topic of vital importance for real estate professionals moving forward.

FEMA Extends Maui Wildfire Housing Assistance
Survivors of last year’s devastating Maui wildfires will receive an additional year of housing assistance from FEMA. This support comes as the community continues to recover from the catastrophic August 8 fire in Lahaina, which killed at least 102 people and displaced around 12,000 residents.
The recovery has been challenging, with housing remaining a critical issue. FEMA has focused on providing rental assistance for those without insurance, directly leasing homes for over 1,200 households and offering subsidies to an additional 500. Many of these rentals are located in Kihei, approximately 25 miles from Lahaina. Survivors have faced instability, often moving multiple times from hotel rooms to temporary housing.
Originally set to expire in February, FEMA has now extended housing assistance until February 10, 2026. This extension is particularly important as a recent report from the University of Hawaii Economic Research Organization highlighted rising unemployment and poverty levels among wildfire survivors, with nine out of ten respondents indicating they lost their homes.
Hawaii Governor Josh Green expressed gratitude to FEMA for their continued support, stating, “The ongoing support from FEMA and our federal partners has been crucial for the recovery of our people.” He recalled President Biden’s commitment to stand by the community for as long as needed.

Netherlands Adds Streets to Solve Housing Shortage
In international news, the Netherlands is embracing a unique approach to tackle its housing shortage. The country aims to build one million housing units by 2030, and while standard measures like urban densification are part of the plan, it’s also introducing a concept called Straatje Erbij, or “One Extra Street.”
This innovative strategy involves adding an extra block on the edges of 2,100 villages and cities, potentially adding 95,000 homes. PBL, the Netherlands’ Environmental Assessment Agency, highlights that while urban densification will contribute the majority of new units, Straatje Erbij offers vital benefits, especially in rural areas facing population decline.
Arjan Harbers, an urban planner with PBL, noted that in provinces like Zeeland, this strategy could effectively bridge housing gaps. The new units will be conveniently located within one kilometer of transit stops, making commuting to big cities more feasible.
Each site is designed to add around 50 housing units over 8 acres, minimizing costs and time compared to large-scale developments. However, this incremental approach faces challenges, such as potential backlash from residents concerned about losing their countryside views and the possibility of higher housing prices.
The proposal is part of a broader policy brief from the new coalition government, emphasizing a return to organic, small-scale urban growth. As the Netherlands navigates this unusual housing strategy, it stands out in a nation known for its ambitious planning.
